Meet Wassily and Briley!

This charming pair has been part of the Wagging Tails pack for the past year. Briley and Wassily, both seven years old, share a love for one-on-one time with the staff. While at The Resort, they each enjoy being the center of attention, snuggling, and playing!

These two lovable dogs have distinct personalities that complement each other perfectly. Briley, a Lab-Mountain Cur mix, thrives on routine and has a remarkable sense of time. She often gets the Zoomies in the mornings and eagerly barks to wake owners Mallory and Terry! She whines several minutes before mealtime and never lets anyone forget to feed her. Daylight savings make it hard to keep everyone on schedule since Briley often ends up an hour off!

Wassily, an Australian Shepherd, is the talker of the pair, full of energy and personality. A favorite game is when Mallory pretends to blow on his belly, prompting a variety of funny noises from Wassily. He has a distinctive bark-whine to let her know he is unhappy with her decision! He’s very expressive, says Mallory, and communicates with eyes that seem to peer into your soul.

The unique habits of each dog add to their charm. Briley is a passionate licker, showering her family affectionately through kisses or playful “drive-by licks” on exposed legs. And Wassily is a notorious seat stealer. If anyone gets up from the couch, he’s quick to claim their spot, often staring intently or grumbling until they move. One memorable moment involved him weaseling onto the sofa, pushing a visiting family member aside as if it were perfectly normal!

Wassily is the more outgoing of the two, always eager to meet new people and be the center of attention. He likes to run the show and is especially commanding with toys and bones. He is fiercely protective of Briley. Despite his willfulness, Mallory says he is incredibly sweet and a natural entertainer.

Briley is a bit more reserved, seeking affection on her terms. She is a sensitive girl who takes her time adjusting to changes. She loves a good scratch and craves feeling loved. She adores snuggling up to her family at every opportunity!

Briley and Wassily are extra special, with playful and loving personalities. As rescues, they have come so far! These four-legged friends bring endless joy to Mallory and Terry’s lives. These two delightful dogs fill their home with happiness, says Mallory, and sharing their stories brings a smile to her face.
