May I take a tour of your facilities?
Yes! We invite you to tour our resorts from 9-11 am and 1-3 pm.
My dog eats special food daily. Will this be possible?
Yes! We are able to accommodate special diets, including raw food and prescription food.
What if my Vet says we should not spay or neuter our dog until 1 year of age?
While this can happen for a number of medical reasons, Wagging Tails Pet Resort requires all dogs over the age of six (6) months to be spayed or neutered.
When my dog is staying overnight, does it cost extra for a Playday?
No! All of our Overnight guests enjoy the same play times as the Playday dogs; this is included in our Overnight rate.
What vaccinations does my dog need to attend Playdays and Overnights?
We require all dogs be current on Bordatella, Rabies and Distemper/Parvo (D/H/L/P) vaccines.
What is the minimum age for Playdays and Overnights?
For the safety of our young pups, the minimum age to attend Playdays is 4 months. Puppies younger than 4 months are accepted on a case-by-case.
Why does my dog have to be spayed or neutered to visit Wagging Tails Pet Resort?
For the safety of all guests in the Resort, we require all dogs to be spayed or neutered by the age of six (6) months.
Do dogs ever fight at Wagging Tails Pet Resort?
No matter how much a dog loves playing with other dogs, sometimes dogs just don’t get along. That’s why we take our role supervising dog interactions at WTPR very seriously.
Instead of reacting to conflicts between dogs, we focus on preventing them before they arise. To do this, we require a Temperament Assessment and Evaluation for each of our guests before their first visit. These assessments help us place dogs in the playgroup best-suited for their play style and temperament. We also don’t accept any dogs with anti-social or aggressive tendencies or dogs who actively jump fences in our play areas.
Our Play Coaches also undergo specialized training so they can work with dogs safely and responsibly. An important part of this program involves reading canine body language and behavior. With these tools, our Play Coaches can identify issues in the playrooms and safely correct them before they escalate. Play Coaches also enforce basic obedience commands to maintain control of the pack, and we don’t allow toys, treats, or food in communal areas because they can trigger a dog’s natural guarding instincts. In the rare event that something does happen, we contact the owners immediately.

What if my dog is feeling under the weather while at Wagging Tails Pet Resort?
When a dog starts to show signs they are not feeling well, we keep a close eye on their symptoms. If we decide your dog requires vet attention, we will try to reach you before we go any further. When possible, we will bring your dog to your regular vet. If for some reason we are unable to contact you, we will call the emergency contact you have chosen.
What is Bordetella?
Bordatella is similar to the common cold/flu in humans. In order to prevent spreading of this airborne virus, we require all dogs to be current on this vaccination.
My dog has a health condition and needs medication and special food daily. Will these be possible?
Yes! Our staff is trained to administer most medications, but not insulin, so please call to check.
- Pack medications separately from food
- If you use pill pockets or special treats to administer meds, please include
Are there any breeds Wagging Tails Pet Resort does not allow?
No – we do not turn away any dogs based on their breed or size. All dogs must pass a Temperament Assessment and Evaluation to attend Playdays or Overnights at Wagging Tails Pet Resort.
Why does my dog seem so tired when I pick him up from a Playday or Overnight stay?
Our Resort guests enjoy all-day play, so they are getting much more physical and mental stimulation than they do at home. Your dog’s health and well being is our top priority, so all dogs have Snacks & Naps in private suites (daily from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm) to recharge and recover from their play. So after a few days, your tired pooch will perk right back up and ask you to schedule another visit to see their new friends!
Can I apply my Playday package to cover my Overnights costs?
No. Playdays and Overnights are calculated separately, so Playday packages cannot be applied to Overnight visits.
Temperament
For the safety of all our guests, Wagging Tails Pet Resort does not accept dogs with aggressive or anti-social tendencies, or dogs that actively jump our fences.
What NOT to bring to an Overnight
- Dog bowls (slow feeders are accepted)
- Marrow bones
- Anything broken or splintered that could cause injury
Can my dog get sick going to Wagging Tails Pet Resort?
Just like humans, dogs can get sick sometimes. To keep your dog as healthy as possible during their visits, we have several strict policies in place. First, all guests must be up to date on their vaccinations, including Bordetella for kennel cough. But, like flu shots in humans, Bordetella isn’t 100% effective, so your dog could still get kennel cough if exposed. So, to reduce the risk of germ exposure, we have an extensive cleaning protocol in place. This involves disinfecting all playrooms daily, fully disinfecting suites between every guest, and thoroughly cleaning toys, food bowls, and water bowls after every use.
Each of our employees is also trained to recognize signs of sickness in dogs. If a dog in our care shows signs of illness, it’s our policy to separate them from our other guests and seek veterinary treatment immediately.
If you know your dog is sick, they should not come to Wagging Tails Pet Resort. And, if viruses or kennel cough are circulating, we alert all of our customers by email.
