Pamper Your Pooch!

We’re gearing up for National Dog Day on August 26 by coming up with ways to pamper your pooch! Originally founded in 2004, this unofficial national holiday was established to celebrate the dogs in our everyday lives and to remind us that there are still many out there who need our help. Now in its 10th year, we want to help get the word out that all dogs should have the opportunity to live a happy, safe and abuse-free life!

Dogs have been with humans for at least 15,000 years. Not only do they officially protect and serve in communities around the world, they also give us love and companionship in our own homes. They make us laugh and sit with us when we cry, they play with the kids and eat the bits we drop on the kitchen floor making dinner. You might think that this is reward enough, but we have something better in mind.

If you are looking to expand your family, consider adopting new dog on National Dog Day from a shelter or reputable breeder. Full house? No problem! Around the country in honor of National Dog Day, people will be encouraged to donate $5 to their local animal shelter to help support dogs in need. Of course the easiest way to celebrate our canine companions is spend some extra time with them, because we all know that’s the thing they love most.
