Meet Bondi!

Our June Tail Wagger is none other than 9-1/2-year-old Bondi! This Border Collie/Golden Retriever/American Fox Hound mix has been making us smile at WTPR ever since she was a puppy.

As a “people dog,” Bondi loves hanging out with her favorite staff members during her visits. But she does have a canine bestie named Belle who lives with a close family friend. Bondi’s also fiercely protective of her 18-year-old feline sister Lilee, who she guards from neighborhood hawks and foxes when out in the backyard. Though, we can’t help but wonder if that’s because Bondi loves stealing cat food and cleans Lilee’s bowl whenever she gets the chance!

Bondi’s owners, Therese and Ron, tell us that she’s super smart and pretty chill – unless a killer deer starts walking near their yard. If that happens, the deer better watch out! Bondi does NOT want those dangerous beasts anywhere near her people! And when Bondi keeps an eye on her family, her Border Collie genes shine through; she prefers everyone being together so it’s easier for her to do her job.

Therese and Ron also told us that Bondi loves her daily walk. She reminds them promptly at 3pm each day that it’s time to go. Seeing her excitement over the outing brightens their day, and they love being able to make her so happy.

But what’s the best part of having Bondi in their lives? “She brings us great happiness with her love, silliness, and reminds us to take the moment for what it is,” Therese and Ron said.
