Meet the Schnoodle
Hybrid dogs (also known as Designer Dogs) have become increasingly popular over the years, and with our current Tail Wagger of the Month, we can see why! Lucy Kazmierczak is a 2-1/2 year old Schnoodle that has been coming to Wagging Tails since 2013. Her spunky and playful attitude shines bright and makes her a favorite in the playroom on her visits.
Hybrid dogs are achieved by crossing well-known dog breeds in an effort to create the best mix of traits possible. What makes them different than mutts? A mutt’s parentage is a mystery while hybrid dogs come from well-documented genetic lines; Lucy, for example, comes from a long line of Schnauzers and Poodles. Schnauzers are well-known for their intelligence, extroverted natures, and big personalities while Poodles are known for their love of family and willingness to please. Blend these two exceptional breeds together and you to create the Schnoodle, a playful and loveable dog that is everyone’s favorite playmate.
As with any dog adoption, be sure to research the positive and negative traits of the breeds you are considering because there is no guarantee which traits a puppy will inherit. To learn more about hybrid dog mixes, visit the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club) which keeps an extensive list of all the hybrids produced from purebred ancestry.
