Tail Waggers of the Month

Meet Charlie and Mochie!

Husky-German Shepard and Husky-Malamute Charlie and Mochie love spending time with all the dogs and staff during their visits at WTPR. Charlie was a pandemic baby who helped mend his owners’ broken hearts after they lost their beloved Tucker, and it’s easy to see why – he’s almost as hard to resist as his sister Mochie!

Mochie is an active girl who loves swimming and snuggling. She’s also vocal and isn’t afraid to tell you when she’s not getting the attention she deserves. Dan and Shannon say she howls like Chewbacca when they get home after being gone for a while. But she doesn’t stop there. She also expresses herself with countless face and ear movements. You can tell she’s always trying to figure out what people are saying, and she has 30 unique ear positions to say something in return.

Meanwhile, Charlie may be three years old, but Dan and Shannon say he acts like an old man – he’s all about chilling out and taking time to smell the roses. You can often see this behavior in action on walks when he lies down to watch the world go by. He’s also a bit of a backseat driver, preferring to ride close to whoever is behind the wheel and brace for turns and red lights.

One thing these Husky mixes have in common is their love of winter. They don’t care if it’s -20 outside; they still expect their walks. They’re also seasoned travelers who even rode the gondola in Breckenridge recently!

When Mochie and Charlie aren’t at The Resort, Dan and Shannon tell us you can often find them at the dog park. During those outings, Mochie gets to see her mom and brother regularly. Meanwhile, you can find Charlie living up to his lover boy reputation by giving all the kids kisses and helping nervous dogs relax and get acclimated.

But what’s the best part of having Charlie and Mochie in their lives? “They are the happiest to see you and spend time with you,” Dan and Shannon said. “They are happy to go on adventures, and we explore many hikes together wherever we go.”

Congratulations, Charlie and Mochie!
